MacBook Pro v. MacBook AirPort

Okay, so i just bought a macbook pro 17" intel 2.33ghz on ebay, and a macbook at the apple store the cheapest one, it was $999... anyway here's my issue, my wife's computer, cheapy macbook is picking up wireless signals where my pro cant even see them. what's the deal? and what can i do to improve my airport card or upgrade.

$999? Was is a refurb? Try contacting Apple.
If not, that is weird..........

what im saying is that my wifes computer the macbook has a stronger card or something in it... how can i get my pro to pick up the wifi signals that strong...thanks

and no, the $999 was new from the apple store .. i paid 1899 for my pro
