I tried to get rid of some software that I don't use (wd_windows_tools) but now I can't empty the trash because multiple items in the folders are locked. I can't move the folders back onto the desktop because my imac simply make copies instead of moving them. How can I unlock all these items or get rid of the folder altogether?

edit: nevermind. A simple search and I found the answer. option-empty trash. Worked like a charm.

Note moved to a better forum (OS X - Operating System):

If I remember correctly press and hold the option key. Then select empty trash from the drop down menu.
