Hey everyone,
I would like some advice from experienced FCP users. I have had my Mac and been using FCP now for about 6 months, and loving the Mac platform i must add. I am making a Softball Highlights video edited to Music for my daughters team, in which i am going to hand out to all the girls at our end of season party, so i would like it to look as good as possible. I decided to make a test DVD for what i have done so far, The picture quality when played back on a Set top DVD player dosen't seem as good as when i view it in the Canvas inside FCP. It seemed to be a little jumpy at times especially if the camera is panning. Everything is perfect inside FCP. I am wondering if someone on here can please give me some advice on what i need to do to achieve the highest quality output to a DVD. For example, Write speed, Encoding settings, DVD-R or DVD+R. Also, i have the Lacie d2 DVD-RW drive with lightscribe, Would it be better for me to duplicate on that drive or the one inside the imac? i will be using the Lacie to burn in a label, so maybe someone can also tell me the best lightscribe media to buy. I hear that slower writing speeds are the way to go rather than the faster 16x speeds. one last thing. What has better compatabitity with set top dvd players, DVD-R/DVD+R? I know i ask a lot, but this is the best place for me to find a lot of experienced users that know what they are doing.
