format a hardrive for windows with disk utility?

ok, my service provider made me format my windows computer because i had an untraceable virus that was sending bulk spam emails from my computer.

i took out the hardrive, plugged it in my mac and formatted it with disk utility.

however, even when i select MS DOS and go to erase it allways comes up with Mac OS journaled. and wont boot in my now OSless PC.

how do i format it to boot from a PC?

Formatting for MS Dos should work.

How big is the drive?, Did you format it seeing a screen like this?



Make sure you choose tyhe disks top icon not the sub-icon further down

thanks for the replay. its 120gig, and yeah exactly like that. but after i go to erase it says OSX journaled.

what version of OS X are you using

I just reformatted my spare drive and it works OK (running tiger 10.4.11 - reformat a 40 gig drive)

10.4.11 thats tiger too right?
