Two Operating Systems On ONE Computer

Just got myself a powerbook G4 and I want to install some older adobe programs like after effects, but I can't because they apparently require a lower operating system. Right now it has OS X 10.4.11 and I'd like to install something like OS 8.

How can I install it without it overriding the OS X? I know someone who has a computer with two operating systems on it, but they bought it like that. Can I do this or not? If so, how?

I don't think you can run System 8 on a G4, or at least not natively.

Maybe OS 9.2.2 will be the go. Have a look at Apple's web site.
