Get the memory from NewEgg - there is no difference at all between generic memory and Apple branded memory. In all likelyhood, the same factory in Korea or Taiwan made it anyway.

I got all my RAM from Crucial directly and save about 250% of the price of Apple Memory. Both my MacBook and my Wife's MacBook run this RAM and we've both been trouble free the entire time.

I guess what I want to make sure of is that I can buy memory that is not listed as mac memory, its listed as DDR 400 (just did a search). I would rather have name brand memory (Kingston 2g 85.00 shipped) than generic OWC memory (2g 90.00 shipped).

I don't know if I would consider OWC generic memory. I would put them up with Kingston or Crucial. They offer lifetime warranty on their RAM like all of the "name brand" stuff.

It doesn't need to be "Mac" RAM.
