HELP -- -Cannot login into MacBook after deleting sparseimage

I deleted the sparseimage to freeup some space and cannot login back into macbook . I am new to MAC and didnt know that I shouldnt use filevault . I am still searching for my recover CD . Meanwhile , can anyone tell me if there is a way to relogin into my laptop . I get the message to change the password to login , but nothing happens when I enter a new password and I only have one user account ....
