Just rebooted and 3.1 is running good so far!

Yep same here!

Safari is my browser of choice since I've made the switch to Mac.
However I can't stand the Windows version. Looks out of place and keeps bugging!!

I have never had any real problems with Safari on Windows but I do agree it just looks out of place there like older Firefox versions on OSX. Firefox 3 though looks great on OSX. They did a excellent job on the latest beta. Very OSX like. I still prefer Safari, but glad if I have to use Firefox for some site it looks so nice now.

I agree. I've only downloaded Firefox 2 because compatibility problems with certain sites. It doesn't look all that even after the loads of time I spent looking for the right theme.
I haven't seen any screenshot of Firefox 3 yet but I will update once the final version is out.
BTW I've read an article that states that Safari is not as "secure" as Firefox 2 when it comes to online transactions. (I think it was specific to PayPal...)
What do you guys think? Is using Firefox really a better option in terms of safety?
I'm not much of a Firefox fan, frankly I could do without it, but I do need to use it for certain university and booty sites...

The only security feature Safari lacks is a phishing filter, that is, telling you that a site is fake. So unless you are dumb enough to respond to those "Your bank account has been suspended" or "Money has been transffered to your paypal account", you are in good hands.

Am still looking for a direct URL. How long will you be there with the high speed? Will get back asap if I can find something.

EDIT: Nevermind. Can't be done.

Just downloaded it - used it only briefly. So far seems a little faster. File size was not that great - if memory serves me correct it was less then 45MB. I am running a G4.

no problems with 3.1 the whole half hour I was home after I updated it. However the only problem I had before was that it'd freeze and I'd have to force quit every once in a while.

Nice and fast (as usual), but still haven't fixed the weak RSS support. If only someone would develop a plug-in that mimics Firefox's RSS Bookmark summary view.

It's crashed on me twice. I just removed "inquisitor" and "safari block", so we'll see if they were causing problems.

Downloading it as I type. I have 3.0.4. The update to 3.1 is 39MB. Not bad...

That's good to hear. I haven't had any crashes since removing those two, so I I'll go re install Inquisitor now and see if I have any more problems.
