make a desktop wallpaper

I use my PBP outdoors in bright sunlight. I have the best result using a solid color desktop. Under the Apple desktop solid colors there are only 10 color choices.
I would like to try other colors to see which allows the best visibility.
How can I create desktops of other colors? Where can I download solid color desktops?
I have photoshop if that helps.

All you have to do is open up photoshop and make a new image. Just set the image to the size of your background and then set the background color to whatever you want. Save it and there ya go!

thanks, I experimented with this but could not figure how and where to "save as".

go to system prefs and then desktop, then choose folder, and then navigate to where you saved it then choose it
