iTunes/iPod/Logging Out

Well i am a new user of the iMac. I purchased an iMac yesterday at best buy and i am very happy with the product. I use to have a laptop and it broke so thats what led me to buying an imac, i lost all my songs that were on my laptop but i still have them on my ipod. Is there anyway i can get my iPod songs off my ipod and transfer them to my new itunes library on my iMac.

Also i was wondering in the future if i can add more ram or a bigger hard drive to my mac.
