CD burning in Tiger with Toast 8 - Issues

Hi all;

I just got a new macbook running OS X 10.5 (Tiger). First I found that I could not burn CD's/DVD's through the finder even if I copied the files instead of using links to the burn folder. So I bought a copy of Toast 8. I can burn DVD's just fine but if I put a CD in the drive and try and record to it, Toast 8 thinks for a minute and then ejects it saying to insert a recordable CD. The CD-R's I have are the Black Memorex CDR's.

Anyone have any thoughts/suggestions ?

Have you updated to version 8.0.3? Find media is very ordinary in many cases and have not used or heard of Black Memorex. Personally use Verbatim and never had a failure with that brand. (Touches wood)!
