Does any one know how to disable the cover flow from happening when tilting the ipod touch? Its so useless to me

Unfortunately, it's one of the main features of the touch, and seeing as how there's no option to disable it in the Settings, looks like you're stuck with it.

You could click the home button, then double click the home button to use the mini-player. That works on the unlock screen, too.

I dislike coverflow so much. It's just too much and if you don't have album art for some songs then it makes it ugly and out of place. I'm with you Tangram.
