I'm having a problem connecting to my ftp server.
In the finder, I went to 'Go' in the menu bar and then 'Connect to Server'.
and i entered my ftp server, username and password.
It connected fine, and the network folder appeared on my desktop.
However, when I open it, I have read-only access when I should have full-access.
If I connect to the server through a Bash shell in the command-line, i have full-access. Also, If i connect through a Windows computer or DOS, i have full-access too.
Why is the Mac GUI version not giving me full access?

Hmm, I didn't even know that you could connect to ftp with the connect to server. I learned something new today :)

But I've been looking around and apparently it just has read only access, which is weird. But there are lots of free ftp apps. I've used FileZilla, and CyberDuck also seems to be popular.
