Why is internet faster on my PC than my iMac?

I ran a bandwidth test on both my comps connected to the same hub and modem. Both are wired, not wireless, with the same length cable.

After testing three times on each, the average for my iMac was 501kbps while my PC was 804Kbps.

Can anyone explain the reasoning behind this?
