New MacBook RAM is full of corrosion *pic*

My MacBook is less that 2 weeks old. The first thing I did was upgrade the ram to 4GB. The original ram that I removed is full of corrosion around the contacts??!!:Confused: :Confused: :Confused:

Mine was like that too. I don't think it's corrosion. I think it's sort of a dried lubricating grease they apply to install the ram sticks.

Yeah, confirm on the lube. Mine had that too when I upgraded and I'm glad of it because you really have to jam those modules into the slots. My fingers hurt for days even with the residual.

Think of it like the android "blood" from the Alien movies.

Hmmm that's weird... I upgraded my MacBook Pro RAM, and the chips were clean.
