My MacBook is less that 2 weeks old. The first thing I did was upgrade the ram to 4GB. The original ram that I removed is full of corrosion around the contacts??!!

Mine was like that too. I don't think it's corrosion. I think it's sort of a dried lubricating grease they apply to install the ram sticks.

Yeah, confirm on the lube. Mine had that too when I upgraded and I'm glad of it because you really have to jam those modules into the slots. My fingers hurt for days even with the residual.
