I just purchased a MacBook Pro from my school and was wondering how good of a deal did I get? I paid $1499.

15.4-inch TFT display with 1440x900 resolution
2.4GHz Intel Core 2 Duo Processor
with 4MB shared L2 Cache
2GB (2 SODIMMs) 667MHz DDR2 SDRAM (PC2-5300)
160GB 5400rpm Serial ATA Hard Drive
8X double-layer SuperDrive (DVD+R DL/DVD+/-RW/CD-RW)
NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT
with 256MBof GDDR3 SDRAM

Also, would it be worthwile to purchase the 4gigs off crucial.com?

Considering the same option from apple was previously over 2000$ before their latest update. Yes you got a very good deal. I know prices dropped slightly on the revision you and I have since the new update, but not that significantly. So yes you got one heck of a deal.

Depending on the type of work you are doing maybe. 2gb's seems to be sufficient for photoshop/fireworks suite and all that. But if your going to be doing any gaming, virtualization or video editing and can afford to go to 4gbs you may want to upgrade.

I paid $2700 for the same config but with a Glossy Screen and a 7200 RPM drive.
