• The Mac-Forums Community Guidelines (linked at the top of every forum) are very clear, we respect US law and court precedence when it comes to legality of activity.

    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi all,

First post here. I have just moved over from linux to mac os x. I have been using linux for years ever since I was 14 when I moved over from windows.

Anyway..... my question.

Can anybody point me in the right direction of some software to convert DiVx files to DVD disk? In linux i used devede which wokred great. When im at work and have to use a windows box I use DVD santa.

Devede was the closest software I could find to DVDSanta. Is there anything like any of the above for OS X?

I have tried FFMpegX but I cannot get it to work, and to be honest I don like the app. Any others??

Thanks!

Your Mac's Specs
iMac Core Duo 20", iBook G4, iPhone 8GB :)
Just use iDVD. It will do the encoding and all that for you. Otherwise Toast Titanium has a DVD burn feature.

I tried iDVD but that says it will take about 5 hours. My MB is way faster than my 2GHZ C2D laptop and that does a dvd in under 20 mins?

Found the app to do the job. Its called VisualHub. It converts and burns avi, mp4 etc to DVD, great quality and in brilliant times.
