Need some suggestions for some high speed internet for my house. Yah.. i finally finished off my 3 year contract w/ netzero so it's now time to get some broadband. anyhow, i found out I'm not offered any dsl service so i have to get cable. but everywhere i look it seems to be 50 a month. which is pretty freaking expensive. so anyone have any idea? thanks...

For starters, check with your local Cable Company. See if you can get digital cable. If not you can try these for ADSL:

www.speakeasy.net

www.covad.com

www.sbc.com

www.verizon.com

The last 2 will depend on who your local telephone company is, SBC or Verizon....

I have COVAD ADSL through Speakeasy and Love it. Their servers are in LA so availability is pretty broad throughout SOCAL (I live in Ventura).....

We pay $50 for cable also.. that's pretty much the going rate right now. I sure wish it was cheaper.

I wish it was cheaper, it should be cheaper, right now Im still on the 6 month introductory period for 29.95, but then it will go up to 49.95.. Im not going to be very happy about that when the time comes.
