Where Did My Colors Go?

I'm a two month newby with a Macbook and a Samsung 20" external monitor.

All of a sudden (I have no idea what I may have done) the red, yellow, green colors disappeared from my little radio buttons for minimizing, closing and enlarging windows, etc. (the X, +, - buttons in the upper left corner of an open screen).

Nothing changes when I restart.

What did I do??

You should be able to change this back by going to system prefs, then the appearance section, and put the top selection drop down box back to blue instead of graphite.

I played with that setting this AM and never even remembered that I had done so or that it might have anything to do with my problem.

I only know because I did the same thing. Played around with the settings then realised the colours had gone!
