electrical help - cooling fan for entertainment center

so i just bought this fan from radio shack:

i was assuming it would have a cord and standard plug at the end. of course all it had was two thin-ish black wires about 6" long poking out of it with bare ends.

if i crimp a standard cord/plug - like the male end and a few feet of cord from an extension cord - on to those two wires will it work or am i just going to trip a circuit breaker (or worse).

the fan is 115VAC 60Hz 20W and it does say "impedance protected".
