camara light

hey guys im havin a bit of a problem with my desktop. My camara light ( green light next to camera ) is on and wont go off till i shut down my desktop. while it is on the camera is not active no programs are open such as photo booth or anything. does anyone know what it might be. thanks in advance guys

It's on because it's receiving power through USB?? Has it always done this?

yeah i just looked at it its the isight camara light. the light stays on while the computer is on and only goes off when the computer is shut down. This never happened before and I am worrying that if it continues like this something is bound to break. was wondering if anyone else faced this issue and if they knew how to fix it. thanks again

why don't you unplug it when you're not using it if you're worried?

sorry i think i missled u guys. its a G5 desktop and its the camara built in to the computer. the green light just stays on

Yes, what you have and what you described are completely different.
Have you tried a PRAM reset?

Sounds like you have one of the last iMac G5's with iSight. Do what Bryphotoguy suggested and reset the PRAM. If that does not work get back to us. I own that machine but have never had that issue.

I am pretty sure the PRAM Reset fixed it for another user here on the forums.

just tried it and nothing im going to call up apple tomorrow and try to resolve it. If anyone else has anything else i can try please let me know and ill keep everyone else posted on this.

dtravis i just tryed that SMU reset and now when ever i put it back on i hear a loud noise coming out of the fan and the green light still apears
