Is there a way for me to setup a startup sound when my Mac boots up? Like for example, i have an altered dolby digital sound that i would think would sound really cool as a sound on my computer. Could i make it work?

I must be the bearer of bad news. No. The startup chime is stored in the firmware and cannot be modified. Sorry, it technically can be modified, as the firmware can be updated, but I don't believe we can do it.

If you do miraculously find out how, I would be glad to proven wrong!

I don't know how to change it, but I do know how to silence it.

There's a free program called "Startup Sound". Here's what it looks like from the System Preferences panel.

Wow, how did you change your finder icon? I have been trying to figure that out forever.
