You can use a USB Wireless adapter, but make sure it's Mac compatible, before you buy it. It will definitely need to have Mac-specific drivers.

Also note that a built-in wireless card is usually preferable to a PC Card or USB adapter, because the antennas are larger and therefore more sensitive (better range, faster in some cases).
