Nice of him to hand over the reins to others in the JB community to continue his work.
Maybe this will go the other way, and he can convince  to open up the IOS system a bit more so people don't have to JB the device.

I only see this as good news.

I doubt Apple would "open" up the iPhone. I don't know, but last time I checked, sales are still amazing. Maybe if sales significantly dropped, while other "open" phones increased, then we could see some change.
