After Lion installation my Time Machine stopped working. Basically it starts backing up but after 2gig it stops and error screen says the drive has been disconnected. I use a synology NAS with latest firmware which supports Lion .
Attaching the console report. Thanks for any help trouble shooting this.

I'd really suggest you check with Synology and in their forums. Just spent some time looking at their NAS units a couple of weeks ago and there were a lot of folks having issues with it not being compatible with Lion. Hence, I bought something else.

i tested on Qnap NAS as well. same issue. Synology has released support for Lion 2-3 weeks ago.

I'd still be looking to Synology. Time Machine itself (unless this changed in Lion, which I have not checked) does not support backing up to the network (unless using a Time Capsule) out of the box - except via manual tweaks and 3rd party software.

Keep checking back here though, perhaps someone will have a fix.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.

thanks for your comments. My Time Machine has worked fine over the network for the past 2 years on Leopard and Snowleopard. Before updating to the new synology DSM i could not even connect to the drives . Now i can and TM starts the backup but disconnects.
Will see if i can get more answers and search around. i can still use my usb drive but would prefere the NAS.

For QNAP devices, you need Firmware v3.5 to fully support Time Machine and OS X Lion

Hope this helps.
