Ok, is it just me or does anyone else notice every 6 months or so a "group" or "gang" of trolls show up and post some bogus issues?
I don't know if they are trying to drive up the number of online posts of people who have problem with their Macs to fabricate proof of Windows vs. Mac, or if they just want to keep us busy and waste our time.

I hope I'm not sounding negative. This is just something I've observed and I'm bringing it up here instead of going off on some poor (potentially innocent) poster who hits a nerve at the wrong time. :Not-Amused: Whatever....

That's kind of their job. If you are smart enough to identify a troll...then you are smart enough to not feed them.

If you think someone is in violation of the forum rules, please report the post and let the staff deal with it. Believe me, we are well-versed in spotting and dealing with trolls.

It could always be the same person using multiple usernames/accounts.

As cwa107 stated, just report the post. The moderator staff is very adept at finding multiple accounts and persons who sign up under different names.

It happens on every forum, whatever the forum's focus. You'll find a vague correlation between new product releases and people trolling the forum.

I don't get why people do that. It's not like we're dealing with a hard hitting issue. I thought politics and religion were the two big argument starters, do we have to add OS choice as well now?

Well, let's be honest, Mac users tend to be pretty zealous. And that enthusiasm is befuddling to people who either don't care for or don't understand Apple products. So, they lash out - particularly immature teeny boppers with nothing else to do but annoy others.

It seems that OS choice is much like religion or politics, you're never going to change anyone's mind that feels strongly one way or the other, so you might as well not bother unless you simply like arguing.

With that said, don't feed the trolls and if you find someone's behavior to be problematic, just let the staff deal with it. About the worst thing you could do is to respond in kind.

Sounds like the OP should check to make sure the men in black aren't after him as well.

And if you don't believe cwa107 just go through these forums and see what some Mac users think of Microsoft lol! Guess they think they are getting their own back Mac baiting.

Most people here don't hate MS though. They just dislike how Ballmer is slowly letting the MS empire crumble by doing nothing good at all for anyone.

Well, to add to what CWA said, look at Ford and Chevy. I have seen people hate each over which is better. Hit each other in fact. Stupid? Yes, but it happens.

That's a good point. Ford and Chevy, Foreign vs. Domestic, Coke and Pepsi, McDonald's and Burger King, iPhone and Android, Conservative and Liberal. It goes on and on. Despite the fact that many people have or can afford more than one computer, the debate rages on and probably will until the end of time.

No matter. The Amiga won this war back in 1985 :)

It beat the pants off every other contemporary PC and OS, but has been relegated to the dustbin of tech history.

Dennis raises his hand in agreement! I have to get out my Amiga 3000 and 500 this weekend and bring back some good memories!

Had post-Jack-Tramiel Commodore known how to market its way out of a paper bag, I highly doubt Apple would even exist today. But I digress...

Ahem, you are mistaken. The beginning of the end of the OS "war" was October 30, 1993. Everyone makes mistakes, it's ok. :p

Hey...I'm not sure I want to do your link...it brings up my computers userid & password window to log into some sort of server...not sure I want to do that.;)
