There's a drawer in the cabinet in front of my bed where I keep my passport, keys and general valuables and a few weeks ago I noticed my passport and some of the papers in the drawer were slightly damp and could find absolutely no explanation why.

I recently tried to use my i-pod nano which had also been in the drawer but it is dead, and when hooked up to my laptop the screen lights up for a split second but that's it.

I have noticed a rusty smudge within the charge socket so I assume it is damp that has killed it and I am now considering the possibility that I may have had a few too many beers one night, got up in my sleep, opened the drawer and peed on it.

Do I have any hope of repair?

The iPod's warranty doesn't cover user-induced damages, and you are responsible for where you keep your ipod, whether it's under your roof window on a rainy night (happened to my iMac) or in that drawer...

I guess it's spoiled.

i have to agree with the others, let it dry out and if that doesnt work, I think your out of luck.

However, you may win an award for one of the best thread titles ive seen in some time :D

There's no smell, I must have been drinking Heiniken.

I'll try the 5 R's and perhaps a clean with some screen cleaner and an old toothbrush, failing that I guess I'll have to splash out on a new one - no pun intended.

I'd say you have problems that go far beyond a non-functioning iPod nano.

No kidding right??!! The old "repair disk permissions" isn't going to solve this problem!

If it were me.... (thankfully it is not)... I'd spend quite a bit of time googling phrases like "Problem Drinking", "Help with addiction" and "I wet the bed AND I'm an adult".

I mean it is EASY to replace an iPod... But how do explain to a date why you got up in the middle of the night and ****** (urinated) on her dresser??? No really.. how?

That's "fiance", according to his profile. Also that's at her dad's house.

I guess his warranty would be "void".

(Use the medical definition for void.)
