Heya fellows,

I was wondering, does the iMac have a Dual Channel Memory?

I was talking with a friend lately about it, and I wasn't sure, because the iMac comes with standard just 1x 1 GB RAM, so that would not make sense, but when it comes with 2 GB it gets 2x 1 GB and 4 GB is logical 2x 2GB,

So does the iMac use Dual Channel Memory?

Thanks!

Yes.. They are Dual Channel.

The 1 x 1GB is a welcome change from previous 1GB models the were (2 x 512MB)... This way to upgrade to 2GB, you need only to purchase a single 1GB stick of 3rd Party RAM.

Is it worth to buy a 2 GB RAM stick?

If you should give a shot and guess who many of the 2 GB you would really use, how much would it be?

Don't wanna spend money on thins I don't use ;)

You would need to be running multiple VERY RAM intensive apps to use up 3GB of RAM.... even 2GB of RAM is overkill for many many users.

Okey,

But having a PC with some spare isn't too bad either in my eyes ;)

Ok still, could you mention some programs that need a minimum of 2 GB (or 3 )
