I downloaded Onyx a couple of years ago on my macbook pro. It seems to do the job just fine as far as running scripts, cleaning, maintenence etc. However the past week I have been trying to update it and shows cannot run update due to error. Try again later. I have tried the update probably three times, but to no avail. So I thought if I did the uninstall through Onxy and re-installed I could start over. Now it will not let me uninstall due to "error". When I originally did the install it was downloaded either from macupdate or Apple. Any thoughts or input to this? Thanks for any help offered.

What I have always had to do is go to Titanium's site and get the latest version and manually upgrade. For me it's been that way for the last few versions the the automatic update would not work.

This is where I get the Updated from. Titanium Software Updates.

I hope that helps.

What kind of error are you getting? It could very well be that the app is still running or you don't have permissions to delete it (both of which are easily fixed).

Well vansmith I am at work right now so I am unable to get to my macbook. However it did not look as though anything was running on Onxy at the time. So I will look to see what error has occured. So what is the easy fix anyway?

Depends what the error is. If it's running, you can always force quit it from Activity Monitor. If it's a permission issue (for whatever reason), you can always change the permissions in the info window (accessed through "Get Info") such that you have write permissions. Let me know what the error message is when you get a chance. Odds are that a simple solution will do.

This is with the Automatic Update run from within Onyx correct? If so, try what I suggested. I never really checked anything else since it seems to be affecting multiple Macs here. I am going to try my Mini that I have not upgraded in a while and see what happens.

Are you talking about this error?

If so, the latest version seems to have fixed it.

Yes it is. When I get home I will try Titaniums software update.

One quick update. After I got that error on the Mini, I manually downloaded the latest version and installed it. Now that error no longer shows. Guess they fixed it. Got it for the last 2 versions.

Way... way too many specs to list.

Yes, from the URL in my other post. I got the stable one for 10.6 and not the Beta.

I am sure they changed the url to their download site and it messed up the app!

I ran the download from the Titanium software site and everything is good. At first I forgot to drag the download to the utility folder and open it up. Through trial and error I figured it out. Well anyway, a Happy Fathers day to all!

You are not alone! I've allways put it there, surely it's the logical place? :)

PS. I've also had the same problem updating to the latest version. Eventually, as advised above, went to the Titanium site and downloaded from there.
