enter and shift keys not working

HELP i have not used my mac book in four days and i came back to it today and now my enter and shift keys do not work. i have checked under them and there is no dirt that i can see or clean off with a cotton bud. i have not spilt anything on it or dropped it. does anyone know what may be wrong with it and if i can fix it or not/ i need to type up the manuscript for a book which i can not do if my enter and shift keys are not working. please help. sophia x

Is it the right shift key? If so, it would be very strange to see two keys just stop working with no outside influence (like a spill).

but why would it matter if it was the left or right key? (sorry kinda still new to mac laptops) like u said if 2 keys arnt working then something happen prolly.

could some one have gotten to it while you were gone?

Well, if the effected keys were grouped, I'd suspect it was a spill.
