im in abit of a mess!

ok, i went onto the mac os x utilites to restore my macbook pro 2010, i deleted the disk utility which had my start up disks on it, and i cant download mac os x lion because i didnt buy it on the store!

basically im stuck on the os x utilites!

please help!

is there no other way? also i cant get on anything apart from the mac os x utilites

To be honest I'm not quite sure what you've done exactly… you're stuck on utilities?

But if buying a copy of Lion will solve this issue, you should do that.

i basically deleted my software off my computer, the only option i have is to install lion but i havent got a apple id which has bought mac os x lion!

Use the original Snow Leopard disc that shipped with your Mac to install OS X.


(For others reading this - don't go deleting your OS or other stuff you don't know what it is - until after you know how you're going to restore your computer.

ok it wont let me install snow leopard onto the "macintosh HD" even though ive got more or less no memory used!

You will probably have to reformat and do a clean install of the OS. Hopefully you have a backup of your files. Need to do that before proceeding.

Boot from the Snow Leopard OS disk and then go to Disk Utilities (menu choice) from there you choose to erase (reformat) your HD Mac OS extended Journalled.

Be aware this will erase all of your files, hence need to have a backup first.
