For lack of a better word, the 'button' at the base of the screen used for turning off applications has stopped working. Now, if I want to stop an application I have to power off the device and restart. A mild inconvenience! Seems hard to believe that I've worn out the button, I'm wondering if there's a problem with software instead? Any suggestions?

Can you take it to an Apple Store?

The other way is to use multi-touch Gestures
Settings -> General -> Multi-touch gestures -> On
Then you can use the five fingers drawn together gesture to go back to the home screen.

thanks for the suggestion on the gesture.... didn't think of that!

As for the Apple Store..... yes, but won't go near there for awhile as its the 'black friday' holiday shopping frenzy at the local mall for awhile. :Smirk:
