Hi:

I copied my favorites folder from my XP machine to a thumbdrive and then on to the desktop of my Macbook. (New Macbook - just purchased 2 days ago)

I tried several ways to integrate the bookmarks into Safari but to no avail. I finally copied the favorites folder to my home folder and added it to the Safari bookmarks menu. That worked.

My questions are:

1. Is there an easier way to do this?

2. How do I add the favorites folder to the dock?

Thanks and regards.

I believe you need to actually use the Export bookmarks feature in Internet Explorer. Once you've done that, it will output an html file that you can import into Safari using File => Import Bookmarks.

Here's a tutorial (among many, if you Google the terms "import bookmarks from internet explorer into safari").
