Need to record a voiceover

I know this is probably stupid but i need to make a voiceover (mp3) file and i have macbook pro - I have no idea how to do it - can I use I Movie?

You could use Garageband for that.

Do you want to 'voice over' a video file you have? You need to explain the situation more...
