Got my Macbook today

My Macbook was delivered today, is there anything I should do from a security standpoint before hooking it up to the internet? Or is it good to go out of the box.

its pretty much good straight out of the box. i would recommend downloading firefox though. its a smoother browser than safari.

Which model did you get? I got a refurb, 2ghz white w/a superdrive.

I got the 2.16 ghz model. I also got the free ipod nano and printer along with my studnt discount. So far I'm liking Safari, I'll probably download firefox in the future just to give it a try though.

There are two models with a 2.16ghz. Black or white?

At least apply the latest security patches via Software Update which you'll find in the System Preferences.

u could turn on built in firewall , it wouldnt hurt , just to be on safe side

I got the white macbook. Thanks for suggesting the software update and firewall, just did both.
