I have the first gen MCP 17" and under my profile it says:

DVD-Write: -R, -RW, +R, +RW, +R DL

Can I burn dual layer discs? What does the +R mean?

That profile says it will burn DVD -R, +R, + or -RW (Re-writable), and + Dual Layer. So yes, It will burn Dual Layers as long as they are +R's.

I just bought a box of Memorex +R Dual Layers. They work well in the same drive as you have.

Thanks!

What is the difference between -R and +R discs?
