It's under Tools - Clear Private Data.

A window will pop up and you can select from various choices including Browsing History.

So there isn't a file somewhere with the history details in it that I could access and open at all?

Your pr0n is safe. Set FF to delete all personal data at close.
Combine that with Onyx if you want.

At last, Ska, I think I've found what you want, after misunderstanding your original question :[

Spotlight -> type Firefox -> the first folder listed, which will show Firefox in Users/name/Library/Application Support. Click that folder in S'light.

When it opens you'll see another folder called Profiles. 2x-click that folder after which you'll get another folder (with a strange name) in which you'll find a file called history.dat What you do with that file is entirely up to you. I see it gets modified regularly, so you may be able to delete it after which it'll get rebuilt next time you restart FFox.

Firefox has a history viewer if that's what you want...
View --> Sidebar --> History
