Can anyone recommend a replacement for iStat pro.
I was disappointed to see that it has been discontinued by the developer.
Thanks

You can always switch to their "iStat Menus.app", however, it's not free. The best one in my opinion is "System Monitor" which can be purchased from the Mac App Store for $4.99 US (convert that to £). It's a fairly new monitor app but really nice. The same developer distributes "Tinker Tool" for free.

Hi Chscag - well I have iStat Menus and have been fine w/ the app - is there much advantage for me to switch to System Monitor? Thanks - Dave :)

No, not really. I also run the registered version of iStat Menus and have not purchased System Monitor. System Monitor is nice but looks like it takes up more room on the menu bar since it displays horizontally rather than vertically. But for someone who is looking for an app to display stats, it's well worth the $4.99.

Yes the link is broken, and from what I know, is because its (iStat Menu) has gone the way of a Paid App, the widget is out of commission and I believe they stopped supporting it back in Snow Leopard.

Trust me when I say, that buying iStat Menu 4 is worth it, if you like to keep a eye on your Temps, Upload, and Download speeds, Disk Usage, Disk Space, so you can get it here if interested, or the one posted above by chscag.

Hi ALL!

Currently updated on iStats Menus (v. 4.21), but looking at the main dialog box (pic below), I am only using the sensors for temps & fan speeds - the other features are not activated - just curious which of those have been the most useful to others? I need to explore this app more, I guess - :Blushing: Dave

Dave, I personally use the combined and have HD Space Used and Free (good if your getting close to full) as well as Network Up/down (have coloured the up red and down green for easy reference) Time, Battery (MBP) with % all in the Menubar, under combined. Drag what you want to the top bar, and then drag EVERYTHING into the bottom bar which will come up in the drop down when you click on one of the MenuBar items.
This way you have EVERY single thing in iStat at your fingertips, but hidden until you click on the Menu Bar.

Thanks Guys for the input - I'll need to look at some of these other settings. Dave :)
