If you had your document folder in your dock...it was only an "alias" or shortcut of your document folder. Your actual document folder is still where it has always been.

If you want an alias of your documents folder back in your Mac's dock...you just have to drag it to the dock.

Do you mean from the left side bar of the Finder window?

If so, I believe all you have to do is right click (cmd click) in the bar and a menu will come up with options on what to display. Click on Documents and it should reappear.

I tried that...unless I'm in the wrong place...no joy.

Doesn't matter whether you are talking about the Dock or the Finder sidebar.

Open up Finder - head for your user account and drag the Documents folder from the right hand side of the window back to wherever it was you deleted it.

(Don't release it on the Desktop - if you're trying to move it back to the dock - make sure you're in the dock.)

No big deal. It will just make a copy, won't it? I can't test my memory of that at the moment.

Edit: Yes, that's right. I suppose if your Documents Folder is HUGE, and your hard drive nearly full, it might be a problem.
