    Therefore to clarify:
    • You may not discuss breaking DVD or BluRay encryption, copying, or "ripping" commercial, copy-protected DVDs.
    • This includes DVDs or BluRays you own. Even if you own the DVD or BluRay, it is still technically illegal under the DMCA to break the encryption. While some may argue otherwise, until the law is rewritten or the US Supreme Court strikes it down, we will adhere to the current intent of the law.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying unprotected movies or homemade DVDs.
    • You may discuss ripping or copying tools in the context that they are used for legal purposes as outlined in this post.

Hi everyone, I'm a new convert from PC, glad to be here!

So this may seem at first read to be another "what software" do i use to convert AVI, DVD, WMV to Mpeg4 but i searched hi and low and i don't think i saw a definitive answer.

I don't mind paying for a good, fast conversion software, but can someone please point me in the right direction?

I hear allot about Handbrake and other free tools, but are the good? I used to use Cucusoft when i used a PC.

Thanks

Never used handbrake. I use VUZE personally it can't possibly any easier. Just drag and drop any format to the left to to the icon of the ipod and bam you get a few options on quality and such and it does the rest for you. I also use it for streaming music/videos to my xbox360, ps3. Also a great torrent downloader.

I'm liking Handbreak, it's a wonder it's free.

LiveD83 also mentioned VUZE. That looks very interesting too.
