Running the new 1920 x 1200 28" Viewsonic vx2835mn on a white macbook. It's ok--good. I want to figure out how to disable the notebook screen while connected.

Connect it to an external monitor, keyboard and mouse then close the lip and wake up using one of the external devices. Hopes this help.

These external wired devices may not, evidently, consist of bluetooth devices? Is there a "wake on bluetooth" setting? - I'll try finding it....

I don't know anything about MacBooks, in particular, but aren't most notebooks partly ventilated through the keyboard? And wouldn't closing the MacBook block that avenue for cooling?

The setting was correct--I just was not waiting long enough for the big screen to get going. It takes 20 seconds give or take with 3 or 4 color change/flashes.

Very very nice. Happy.

The laptop seemed to stay cool enough, but I'm not an engineer ;)

The older mac laptops used ventilation through the keyboards, not anymore. They vent through the back.
