hey guys and gals..

I really want to do this before I head off to the bahamas in a couple of days and found this drive locally for $99.00

FRYS.com | SEAGATE

it's a seagate 750gb 7200rpm drive with 16mb buffering..

any reviews on this? couldn't really find anything?

It's either that OR I order (wont have till I get back) the 750gb WD Black drive with from what I can tell, are the SAME specs?

Western Digital WD7500BPKT 750GB 2.5" 'Scorpio... in stock at OWC

which one of the two would you recommend?

they are BOTH 2.5 correct?

Have you tried looking up the Seagate drive on amazon.com or newegg.com? I'm sure somewhere there are reviews of it. I have a 500GB 7200RPM Hitachi in my MBP, so I can't comment on the Seagate or WD, but I'm sure you will find 50/50 for/against on these forums.

errr.. I'm a moron.. I know that it's a 2.5" drive, but is the size of the drive going to fit into the macbook pro? I know that it can't be over a certain MM size but I cannot remember what that is.

Way... way too many specs to list.
Yea, so far I can't find anywhere that states if its 9.5mm or 12mm.

Oddly enough, I can find Box dimensions and palleting info.. but nothing really USEABLE on Seagates site.

this is so strange...i just got on here to ask pretty much the same question

my drive has been making some clickety sounds so i wanted to put in a new one before things turn ugly.

my mbp is older though...its a late 2007 model.

now i've been looking around and the seagate momentus seems to be a safe bet... i think it's 9.5mm...but i have no idea about the western digital

it would be awesome if someone could help us decide

my googling so far has led me to beleive that this: ST905003N3A1AS is a good one
but then theres this one as well ST9500420AS

i cant really figure out which is better or what the differences are.

some help would be great! thanks :)
