HELP - Macbook Price

I was wondering what everybody thought I should sell my macbook for. I want to upgrade to an iMac. Here's my specs:

MacBook
13-inch, Late 2009
Processor 2.26 GHz Intel Core 2 Duo
Memory 3 GB 1067 MHz DDR3
Graphics NVIDIA GeForce 9400M 256 MB
Software Mac OS X Lion 10.7.4
(It's in excellent condition, no major scratches, plus it has a speck case.)

I sold one just like it about 3 weeks ago for $500. The guy I sold it to (which I know) then turned around and sold it for $599. You should DEFINITELY be able to get more than $400-$450 for it.

For a 3 year old Macbook???? People are insane.

I sold my mid-2009 MBP 13" for $350, and felt lucky to get it.

I have another mid-2009 13" - if someone wants to pay $700 for it, a deal if they're willing to pay $600 for a Macbook.

You have to be a patient and good salesman. I sold an early 2008 MacBook which was in pristine condition for more than you sold your 2009 MBP. I sold it locally and in person for cash.

Yeah, if you're the buyer. I'll agree you can buy a used machine for less. But if you have a clean machine; no marks or glitches on the screen or case, and it runs well, you'll get a premium price. The guy that bought my machine was happy that he was able to get a like new 2008 MacBook for the price he got it for.

Not insane at all.

- 2.0ghz core 2 duo MacBooks from 2007-2008...$350-$425
- 2.4ghz core 2 duo MacBooks from 2008...$400-$425
- 2.26 core 2 duo Unibody MacBooks from 2009...$425-$500

These are Craig's List prices...e-Bay will be even more.

I have never never seen a fully functional core 2 duo MacBook selling for $250 (mentioned above). Probably because if they do exist...they are "snapped" up in like 5 minutes.

I do agree...anything over $500-$550 is pushing it...but then individual configurations (ram & HD size) can make a small difference.

The way I look at it, one can buy a brand new 13" for $1200 or less.

That being the case, the most that is reasonable (to me) to pay for a used one is half that price, or $650. That would be for a 2011 model. Anything less, prices drop real fast.

But hey - whatever logic people use I guess. Sucker born every minute and all
