Downloaded and installed. It is a bit quicker on some websites. Click to Flash disappeared so I'll mess with the code later. I noticed the blue progress crawl is back in the address bar. Is it just me or did that disappear in Safari 4 and just now come back? I've been running Opera for a while and can't recall.

Disappeared in favour of gear wheel but blue progress bar better and does seem faster. Hopefully an improvement over version 4.

I'm with you on that one. Not having any sign of progress is extraordinarily annoying for me and one of the few things that still bugs me about Chrome.

As for my views of 5, it doesn't seem all that much faster but I have been using nightlies of other browsers which have been performing at much the same level for a while now (this is why I'm frustrated that Safari 5 took a year to release). It's a welcome upgrade but I'm hoping that Apple starts making the gap between releases smaller.

I don't know about anyone else, but coverflow is not working for myself and a friend when looking through bookmarks?

Where did you download it from? Software Updates? Try going to the Apple web sirte and downloading from there. Keep us posted?

Apple - Safari - Browse the web in smarter, more powerful ways.

Yep, i downloaded it from the Apple site. Still a disaster - it just wouldn't work and I didn't want to spend hours with AppleCare (though thank goodness for them - many times lifesavers).

I am now using Chrome on both my machines and am thoroughly enjoying it. It's working faster (for me), I don't have to do the "merge windows" option among other annoyances. I had FF at one point, but it's gotten far too bloated, imo.

I usually don't DL stuff until bugs are worked out - I relearned my lesson, that's for sure!

Click to Flash? Is that some sort of plug-in? Not familiar with it. Is it built into Safari 5?

It is a plug-in for safari that blocks flash content on websites and allows you to choose as to wether or not you want to see it.

Yes. It prevents flash content from loading unless you click to authorize same. No, I don't think so. (I haven't upgraded yet!)

AdBlock, a staple of the extension world, is now out for Safari. Sweet!
