"Rosetta" is an optional install under Snow Leopard. If you need to install Rosetta...I'm pretty sure you need a Snow Leopard (10.6) install DVD...since after a short internet search I couldn't find any download sites.

A Snow Leopard install DVD is only $29...a lot better than $129 Apple has charged for some previous OS upgrades.

HTH,

You're likely trying to run or install a program that was designed specifically to work with the PowerPC CPU that Macs used to use up until the switch to Intel. Rosetta acts as a PowerPC emulator.

I think that Rosetta is only require when you want to use old, legacy software from about 5-6 years ago…the powerpc days… Is that what is going on here?

I checked again however I don't see that above, sorry.

What you posted in post #7 is basically what "cwa" posted in post #4.

What you said is true...you just used different words to say the same thing.;)

I don't see any information about what software led to the rosetta issue. I guess that would come from the OP.

Yes...this info would have to come from the OP. But if we have already answered the OP's question...or solved their problem...then we may never hear back from the OP.:(

Rosetta is included on the Snow Leopard installation disk but as you've been told, it's not installed by default. If you lost your SL disk or don't have it on hand, you can always buy another from any Apple store or Best Buy for $29.

Which program is it that you're trying to install or use that needs Rosetta?
