i have bought a new imac on 12/2006 in Greece.

I have a question? does this mac has an intel 64-bit processor?

Yes, the Core2Duo is 64 bit.

There's some blurb about 64 bit Leopard here: http://www.apple.com/macosx/leopard/64bit.html

Personally I don't think 64 bit is anything to get excited about at this stage. In a few years, it will probably be standard, but Vista 64 bit doesn't offer anything spectacular at this stage for example.

hardware is years ahead of software. Software needs to play a little catch up.

are the original core duos 64 bit too does anyone know ?

oh and as i understand it arent vistas built in apps mainly lacking 64bit functionality . . and the driver situation is a joke so thats gonna cause slow down, with leopard the iapps and drivers should be tip topp surely ?

The original Core Duos are 32bit.

ah right fair enough, will have to start thinking about upgrading

That being the time it will take for most third party apps to actually make it to 64 bits.

Actually, unless you are planning on producing the next Finding Nemo film on your iMac 64 bit will not really impact you, it is only for really high power usage. (i.e any application needing to calculate the distance in microns between here and Betalguise 1 billion times per second or needing >2Gb of RAM)

The biggest boost in Leopard will be proper SMP support across the entire OS, certain apps will really fly.
