Hello all,

I was wondering if there's any disk utility, or software that's available to retrieve lost information from a formatted backup HDD. I recently created a new partition/volume on my backup external HDD and when it was finished, all my information that I had saved was gone. Any help would be appreciated.

Once you reformat a HD, you erase all data that was on it.

No you don't, even if you choose to write over all the data with zeros. Data can still be recovered.

jonbruinsma, you need to get Data Rescue II. It has done for me exactly what you are looking to do.
