Power supply concern

My fiance has a MacBook and I have a MacBook Pro. With the power cords looking almost the same except for the size, I'm always worried that we'll switch them up. I know they are different wattages. Would this cause problems?

Just curious since I have never check an MPB or MB, is the voltage the same and just the Wattage/Current that is different?

If the voltage is the same I would say that the MacBooks would overheat if used on the MBP since I am sure it draws more current. In other words, don't do it if you can help it!

Okay, so my concern is justified. Just like the owners of the BlackBook, I wish apple would have made power cord the same color as my computer. That would make things easier, rather than having to hold up the two side-by-side to see which is bigger.

That is an interesting point. It would be interesting to see a Black power supply with the Black Macbook.

I believe the MBP one is 85 watts(maybe it was 80) and the MB was 65(or 60). I also believe apple is yet again redesigning the MBP one to put out 65 watts due to melting adaptors and thing of the sort.

I wouldnt swap them around myself although it probably wont hurt anything.

I think it would look pretty cool to see a silver/grey one with the MacBook Pro.

I'd use a magic marker and mark your girlfriends adapter (that way you don't need to mark yours)

Just out of curiosity, which of the notebooks would overheat?

ahh you beat me to it. thats what i would do, i would color about an inch right before the connector so you can tell which one is which.

If I were really artistic, I would try to fill in the Apple on mine with a silver Sharpie to match the aluminum on my MacBook Pro. I am, however, not artistic so I won't. LOL
