I have suddenly started getting Bing searches when I try to do a Google search. How do I stop it?

Stop going to Bing? ;)

We need more details. Where are you doing this search? What browser are you using? Have you installed any extensions/add-ons as of late?

Please provide the information requested - but just in case you are using the Safari browser, then go to Preferences -> General and check on the setting of your default search engine (see attached pic from my laptop - blue arrow; Google is my default but Bing is an option). Good luck - Dave :)

Switch to DuckDuckGo and forget about all three of them? ;P

I have Google UK as my home page. I'm using Safari. I start with a Google search, the default search engine but somehow Bing seems to be prioritised in the results of the search.

I don't have any extensions installed.

I don't quite understand. Are you saying that Bing often comes up first in your results? If so, this would be an issue with what you're searching.

Apparently, my preferred search engine is coming to Yosemite as one of default ones - great news ... imho ;)

I don't like to clutter my browser with extensions, so when I need to search for something, I just click on DuckDuckGo bookmark in Favourites Bar. There was a hack to replace one of the current three, but it was far from elegant (i.e. faking the name etc), so I never bothered with it. It'll be great to be able to set it in Safari as default engine :D

I'm liking it so far. It's almost like someone took the reader function in Safari and applies it to the results of a search engine. There are several features I have not tried yet but great so far.

Yet another reason to use Chrome:
