Hello,

I recently bought a powerbook G4 from a friend, for a good price.

The problem is, the charger pin is snapped inside the computer, and it is stuck in the charging port and I cannot remove it.

an image if you can make it out: http://leet.ie/IMG_1602.JPG

It's lodged in there quite tightly, and is hard to get out with any household objects.

How should I take it out? I've been thinking maybe using a magnet but I think it might interfere with the hardware / won't be strong enough

or maybe using a toothpick with some glue and let it set then remove it?

any ideas on how I can un-lodge the pin?

cheers,

Kevin.

toothpick and superglue isnt a terrible idea, just be careful.

have you tried sticking a needle in to the center of it and try backing it out?

I dont think a magnet would hurt anything but I also dont think it would work.

That must be a problem with those chargers cuz the tip of mine broke as well, but luckily it didn't break off in the machine.

I got it out, and here's a soloution:

I screwed a small screw into the tip of the pin (only a little bit in), and pulled it out gently.

viola it's out and no damage :)
